Replace the base unit cover
WARNING: DO NOT touch or probe with a tool inside the computer while the computer is on. An electrical shock could occur and components could sustain damage.
1) Test the computer and all components for proper operation before replacing the cover.
2) Make sure that all adapter cards are properly seated and secured in place with screws and that all empty slots are covered with slot covers.
CAUTION 1: Cards can work their way loose if they are not secured with screws, causing components to function improperly.
CAUTION 2: Missing slot covers can cause dust to get inside the computer, causing components to work improperly. Also airflow patterns become distorted, causing chips and components to overheat.
3) Slowly slide the base unit cover back into place.
CAUTION: Watch carefully and make sure cables and cords do not get caught and damaged on the cover.
4) Replace all the screws along the top and sides of the CPU base unit cover.
5) Carefully place all the cables back into the appropriate connectors on the back of the CPU.
CAUTION: DO NOT force or bend connectors or pins.
6) Plug the power cords back into the electrical outlets.
7) Turn on the computer and its components one at a time.
8) Retest to make sure the computer and all its components are working properly.
